Recently, Xpeng G9 was officially released. At the press conference, He Xiaopeng said that the Xpeng G9 is the world's fastest charging mass-produced electric vehicle, which can achieve "5 minutes of charging and a range of more than 200 kilometers".


He Xiaopeng previously revealed that the G9 has upgraded the electrification technology of Xpeng Motors by a generation, and the G9 and its subsequent new models will fully support the ultra-fast charging system.


The so-called "super fast charging" is inseparable from its 800V SiC high-voltage platform.


In fact, not only Xpeng, but also the models listed this year such as the Extreme Fox Alpha S, Avita 11, and Great Wall Mecha Dragon are equipped with the 800V platform, and many institutions have also pointed out that 2022 will become the first year of mass production of 800V models.

Why is 800V high-voltage fast charging favored by many car manufacturers? In the final analysis, it is still inseparable from mileage anxiety and replenishment anxiety.


At present, the high-voltage system of electric vehicles generally uses 400V platform, of which the largest charging power is Tesla's third-generation supercharger, reaching 250kW, and the peak of the working current is nearly 600A.


It can also be seen from this that superchargers also play an important role. If the 800V model is charged at the existing ordinary charging pile, the charging speed does not meet expectations, and the real sense of super fast charging cannot be achieved.


At present, in addition to cooperating with operators to deploy charging networks, automakers are also actively building their own supercharger networks. For example, Xpeng also said today that after the first S4 ultra-fast charging station went online in August this year, it aims to deploy 50 in December this year and 2,000 in 2025.

Under the high-voltage fast charging route, higher requirements are put forward for the vehicle end and the charging end, and the components involved in the high-voltage system urgently need to be upgraded. On the whole, the agency expects that the short-term related subdivision industry chain may usher in a strong catalyst in the short term or with the release of Xpeng G9, and the release and volume of 800V high-voltage platform models of various car companies may bring medium and long-term profit elasticity.
