The executive meeting of the State Council pointed out a few days ago that vigorously build charging piles and support policy-based development financial tools.

Industry insiders said that with the continuous growth of new energy vehicle ownership, the charging pile industry will usher in rapid development, and core equipment manufacturers will benefit in the medium and long term.


Industry policies are favorable


Recently, the Ministry of Transport, the National Energy Administration, the State Grid Corporation of China, and the China Southern Power Grid Corporation jointly issued the Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Charging Infrastructure along Highways, which established three phased construction goals, among which, by the end of 2022, highway service areas in areas other than high cold and high altitudes across the country can provide basic charging services.


In recent years, China's electric vehicle industry has developed vigorously, and the scale of production and sales has continued to grow rapidly. According to statistics, as of June this year, the number of electric vehicles in China has reached 10.01 million, of which 2.209 million were newly registered in the first half of the year, an increase of 1.106 million units over the first half of last year, an increase of 100.26%, a record high.


Compared with the rapid development of new energy vehicles in China, at present, the total amount of charging infrastructure for new energy vehicles is not enough, and the coverage is still more prominent.


All localities will accelerate the layout of charging piles for new energy vehicles

Since the beginning of this year, China's new energy vehicle sales have shown a good momentum. With the hot consumption market of new energy vehicles, various places have accelerated the layout of green travel and promoted the construction of supporting facilities such as charging piles and exchange stations.


In order to solve the problem of difficult and slow charging, various places have taken action, and the construction and operation of charging stations have been further accelerated. This year, Beijing has orderly promoted the task of comprehensive improvement of professional pipelines in old residential areas, and plans to build 20,000 new charging piles for various electric vehicles and 30 replacement stations. In the south, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hainan and other 5 provinces and regions will achieve full coverage of charging facilities in tourist attractions above grade A, and will achieve full coverage of township charging piles next year.


In highway service areas and some urban charging stations, innovation in charging technology has brought more convenient travel methods for new energy vehicle owners. In Zhejiang, State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company aims at the charging scene needs of old residential areas, core business districts and other places, and launches new charging products such as ceiling-mounted, slide-type charging piles and intelligent charging robots, enriching charging methods and striving to solve the "last 10 meters" charging blocking points such as "difficult charging in old communities", "oil truck occupancy", "pile without car, car without pile".


While the number of charging piles is increasing, many vehicle and power battery companies are also launching energy supply and supporting facility solutions. The small swap station developed by power battery manufacturer CATL can not only quickly change power for new energy vehicles, but also store 48 batteries. "It is hoped that through the latest research and development of battery replacement products, the battery will become a shared asset and solve the three major pain points of electric vehicle users: cruising range, power replenishment convenience and purchase and use cost." The relevant person in charge of CATL said.


Industry insiders believe that with the rapid popularization of new energy vehicles, accelerating the construction of charging infrastructure is of great significance to driving effective investment and new energy vehicle consumption, which is conducive to driving the rise of the new energy vehicle industry and the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.


Relevant institutional analysis


According to CCID Consulting, by 2030, the number of new energy vehicles in China will reach 64.2 million. According to the construction target of 1:1 vehicle pile ratio, there will still be a gap of about 63 million charging piles in China's charging pile construction in the next 10 years.


An industry analyst at a brokerage in the east said frankly, "Charging pile operators mainly rely on charging service fees, the source of income is relatively single, the return on investment period is very long, and the profit is at least 3 to 5 years." Due to the rapid technological upgrading of the charging pile, if it is not compatible with the new car standard after a few years, the initial investment is equivalent to a waste. ”


Yin Zhongshu, an analyst in the new energy industry of Everbright Securities, said that the support of policy-based open financial tools will effectively alleviate the capital investment of enterprises in the early charging pile layout. Follow-up charging pile core components and charging side energy storage will usher in new opportunities, it is recommended to pay attention to charging pile and core component manufacturers such as Tonghe Technology, Inkerui, Crestec.


Dongguan Securities believes that the charging pile industry chain is expected to usher in the wind. Equipment manufacturers will benefit from the expansion of the scale of charging pile construction, and it is recommended to pay attention to the core equipment suppliers of charging piles, such as Guodian Narui, Xuji Electric, Shenghong Co., Ltd., and the targets Hanchuan Intelligent and Shandong Weida that benefit from the promotion of new energy vehicle battery swap mode.
