On July 28, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development held a press conference to build charging facilities in residential communities that everyone is concerned about, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development said that from January to May this year, 8,940 charging piles were added in the renovation of old urban communities. In the future, the construction of charging facilities in residential communities will be regarded as an important starting point for benefiting people's livelihood, promoting consumption and stabilizing growth.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development revised and issued a series of standards and specifications such as "Urban Residential Area Planning and Design Standards", "Complete Residential Community Construction Standards" and "Engineering Technical Standards for Electric Vehicle Decentralized Charging Facilities", and made provisions that "100% of the parking spaces for new residential buildings should be built with charging facilities or reserved for construction and installation conditions", and clarified the standards for the planning and site selection, power supply system, supporting facilities, completion acceptance and other aspects of charging facilities.

In addition, for existing residential areas, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development instructs all localities to transform or build electric vehicle charging facilities in and around communities as the content of improving old urban communities. From January to May this year, 8,940 charging piles were added in the renovation of old urban communities.


Since 2021, 59 sample cities have been selected to carry out urban physical examinations, and the coverage of low-carbon energy facilities in communities such as charging facilities has been included in the content of urban physical examinations. Through a combination of self-physical examination, third-party physical examination and social satisfaction survey, guide the sample cities to find the shortcomings of the construction of charging facilities, and combine the implementation of urban renewal actions to determine the construction goals, plans and projects of charging facilities.


For newly built residential areas, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, in conjunction with relevant departments, guides all localities to strictly implement the provisions on 100% of the construction of charging facilities or reservation of construction and installation conditions, and cooperate with relevant departments to seriously investigate and deal with the failure of real estate development enterprises to build charging facilities in accordance with regulations.
