"The construction of a charging and swapping power station is mainly limited by four factors: site, electricity, equipment and service after completion, and the breakthrough will be service as king." On September 28, at the 2022 China Electric Vehicle Charging and Swapping Procurement Festival held in Changzhou, Yu Xiang, vice president of Nenglian Zhidian, said in an interview with Nanfang + reporters.
He said that compared with Europe and the United States mainly based on private piles, local living is more independent houses, domestic group living community mode, it is difficult to have enough independent parking spaces to meet the demand for energy replenishment, therefore, the development of China's charging and swapping industry will be based on public charging, and is based on public fast charging or ultra-fast charging.
Just recently, Guangzhou issued the "Three-Year Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (2022-2024)", which clearly stated that in 2024, a charging and swapping service system of "one fast, one slow, orderly charging" and a "supercharging capital" will be basically built, and about 1,000 super fast charging stations will be built by then.
Yu Xiang believes that 1,000 supercharging stations can meet the charging needs of a single city, but in terms of new energy replenishment, the technology has not yet been fully qualified, and not all cars can meet the overcharging. "Overall, it's a moderately forward-looking layout, not a wasteful layout."
With the accelerated layout of infrastructure in Guangzhou and other cities, a new trillion-level industrial chain has emerged. Data show that by 2030, China's new energy vehicle ownership will exceed 80 million, and it is expected that about 20 million public charging piles will be needed. "We made a hypothesis, if these 20 million public piles are all fast charging, according to the current market price, equipped with a 120KW charging pile of about 40,000 yuan, and then equipped with power distribution facilities, transformers, etc., a double-gun charging pile will invest more than 100,000 yuan, and 20 million piles is an investment of at least two trillion yuan." Yu Xiang said.
What kind of stations are most favored by consumers? Yu Xiang said, first of all, is a venue that can provide free parking, a limited-time free parking lot is the most popular with drivers, whether it is equipped with toilets, rest rooms, etc., can improve user stickiness. In addition, some non-electric businesses, such as unmanned retail, unmanned catering, self-service car wash, massage chairs, etc., can provide better services for drivers at charging stations.
"In the past, charging was an unmanaged way and only people communicated with the equipment, and if you build a real human-to-human interaction, it will help improve the stickiness of the station." Yu Xiang introduced.
However, time-limited free also brings a new problem: the resource party with the parking lot can bring a steady stream of cash flow by parking, and if the investor who operates the charging provides limited-time free parking after entering the market, the resource side finds that the service share of charging and replacing is not as large as the parking income, and disputes often arise afterwards.
"We will provide a data model to clearly measure the economic value by providing a complete data chain, and then formulate a reasonable distribution of benefits." Yu Xiang said that we will tell the resource side that parking is no longer a separate service capability, but a tool for drainage, "If two shopping malls are next to each other, one shopping mall parking is exempt, and the other shopping mall is exempt, then users will definitely vote with their feet."
Secondly, the operation and maintenance of charging piles is also very important. According to industry statistics, the annual failure rate of existing public charging piles is more than 10%, which means that more than 100,000 of the more than 1 million public charging piles in China are bad.
In response to the problems in operation and maintenance, Nenglian Zhidian launched an aggregation service, "Since the charging pile is broken and no one repairs it, then we can integrate the scarce operation and maintenance forces in the market and reuse them through sharing."
Up to now, Nenglian Smart Power has covered 358 cities in China, connected to more than 400,000 charging guns, cooperated with more than 44,000 charging stations, and began to act as an agent for various charging pile brands since 2021, and the sales of charging piles this year exceeded 70% year-on-year.
